Steps
pump.fun's own guide lists three steps.
- Connect a wallet. Use a Solana wallet such as Phantom, Solflare or Backpack, or sign in with email, which creates an embedded wallet.
- Fill in the coin details. Enter a name, a ticker, a description and an image, plus optional socials. The guide suggests a short ticker in capitals, typically 3 to 6 characters, and a square image, ideally 512 by 512.
- Approve the transaction. Sign the launch in your wallet. The coin then goes live on the bonding curve.
The name, symbol and image are part of the token metadata and cannot be changed afterwards, so check them before you sign.
What it costs
- Creation: pump.fun's fee page says there is no platform fee for any pairing. You pay the network transaction fee and the small SOL deposit the network needs to create the token's accounts. Community launcher tools estimate about 0.02 SOL for this, which is not an official figure.
- Initial buy: optional, and the amount is your choice.
- Trading fees: on the bonding curve the total fee starts at 1.25% in the first market-cap band and falls as market cap rises. The creator's share starts at 0.30%.
- Graduation: when a coin moves to PumpSwap, a 0.015 SOL charge applies for every coin.
See the pump.fun fee schedule for current rates and how creators earn. After graduation trading moves to PumpSwap.
Risk
Most launched coins lose nearly all their value. Launching is cheap, but that is not a sign of a good outcome. Compare launch options on the launchpads page, or see pump.fun.
