What the error means
Attempt to debit an account but found no record of a prior credit.
The wallet paying the fee has never held SOL on this network, so the runtime cannot find it. It almost always means an empty wallet or the wrong network (devnet versus mainnet).
| Where it comes from | Solana runtime (transaction error) |
| Code | AccountNotFound |
How to fix it
- Check the fee-paying wallet on a block explorer for the network you are using. If it shows no SOL, send SOL to it.
- If you are testing, confirm your wallet and app are both on devnet or both on mainnet. A devnet airdrop does not exist on mainnet.
- On devnet, get test SOL from a faucet, see how to get devnet SOL.
- Retry the transaction after the SOL arrives.
If that is not it
- If the wallet has SOL but the error mentions a specific account, the app may be paying fees from a different wallet than the one you funded.
