What the error means
Error processing Instruction N: custom program error: 0x…
The hex number is an error code from the program that failed. The same number means different things in different programs, so you need both the code and the program ID.
| Where it comes from | Any Solana program |
| Code | Hex code, read per program |

How to fix it
- Open the failed transaction in a Solana explorer and find the program that logged the error.
- Convert the hex code to decimal, for example 0x1771 is 6001 and 0xbc4 is 3012.
- Codes from 6000 (0x1770) up are the program's own errors; look them up in its published error list or IDL.
- Codes 100 to 5000 in Anchor programs are Anchor framework errors, such as 2006 ConstraintSeeds or 3012 AccountNotInitialized.
- Small codes (0x0 to 0x13) in the SPL Token program are token errors, such as 0x1 InsufficientFunds and 0x11 AccountFrozen.
If that is not it
- Plain-text errors like "Blockhash not found" or "Insufficient funds for fee" come from the Solana runtime, not a program.
