What revoking an authority does
A Solana token has up to three authorities. Mint authority can create more supply, freeze authority can freeze token accounts, and update authority can change the token metadata. Revoking an authority sets it to none on chain. The change is permanent, so finish minting, allocations and metadata edits first. Buyers and rug checkers read these fields directly from the mint account.

How to choose
- Which authorities. Check the tool covers all three if you want a fully locked token.
- Pricing shape. Per-authority pricing adds up when you revoke more than one. A platform fee of zero leaves only the network fee.
- Token program. Confirm the tool handles both the original SPL token program and Token-2022 if your token uses extensions.
- Signer. The authority wallet must sign. Load the token first to see which address holds each authority.
- Verify afterwards. Paste the mint into an explorer or a rug checker and confirm the authority fields are empty.
