"Transfer is disabled for this mint" (Token-2022 0x24)

The fix

The token uses the Token-2022 non-transferable extension, so it can never be sent, sold or swapped from your account. This is by design for soulbound tokens, and a trap when a tradable-looking token uses it.

How to fix it

  1. Check the mint's extensions in an explorer or a rug checker that decodes Token-2022.
  2. There is no fix on your side: no one can transfer a non-transferable token, including the creator.
  3. Before buying any Token-2022 token, scan it for non-transferable, pausable and permanent delegate extensions.

If that is not it

  • If transfers fail only sometimes, a pausable mint (0x3f) or a transfer hook is more likely.

Questions people ask

Can a non-transferable token be sold?

No. The extension blocks every transfer, so it cannot be sent to a pool or another wallet.

How do I check before buying?

Scan the mint with a rug checker that decodes Token-2022 extensions, see [Token-2022 scam traps](/en/resources/guides/token-2022-scam-traps-explained).
