What the error means
Program failed to complete
A program stopped mid-execution, most often because it ran out of compute units or hit an internal limit, without returning a specific error code.
| Where it comes from | Solana runtime (instruction error) |
| Code | ProgramFailedToComplete |
How to fix it
- Raise the compute unit limit (up to 1,400,000 per transaction) and retry.
- Reduce the work in one transaction, for example fewer hops in a swap route or fewer accounts.
- Read the program logs in a block explorer for the last line before the failure.
If that is not it
- If the logs show a custom program error, decode that instead, see how to decode Solana error codes.
More fixes: how to decode any Solana error code and why Solana transactions fail.
