Solana Snapshot Tools: Complete Guide
What a snapshot is used for
A snapshot is the list of wallets that hold a token or an NFT at the time you run it. Teams use it to decide airdrop recipients, build allowlists, check holder concentration and open votes to holders.
Token snapshot or NFT snapshot?
| You want | Use |
|---|---|
| Holders of a fungible token (SPL or Token-2022) | Token snapshot |
| Holders of an NFT collection (Metaplex or compressed) | NFT snapshot |
| Past snapshots you saved | Manage snapshots |
What to check in a snapshot
Balances are raw token amounts, so check the token’s decimals before you compute airdrop amounts.
Liquidity pool vaults and exchange wallets appear as the largest holders but are not real users.
A snapshot is a moment in time. Balances change as soon as holders trade.
Clusters of wallets funded together are often one person, which matters for fair airdrops.
