Revoke Freeze Authority from a Solana Token
Check whether a Solana mint can freeze token accounts, then permanently remove freeze authority with the current authority wallet.
Inspect Before Acting
Confirm the mint, token program, current authority, and connected wallet first.
Non-custodial by Design
Transactions are built in your browser and only your wallet can approve them.
Permanent Immutability
Revoking mint, freeze, or update authority cannot be undone by the application.
How to Remove Freeze Authority from a Solana Token
Freeze authority lets a token issuer freeze or thaw token accounts. It does not change the token supply, but it can prevent holders from transferring or selling their tokens.
Load the mint to inspect its current freeze authority. After the authority is set to null, no wallet can freeze or thaw accounts through the Token Program.

A Safer Authority Revocation Workflow
This Tool
Inspect • Confirm • Sign- Loads the current authority from the mint or metadata account
- Shows the full address before the action button is enabled
- Uses the detected SPL Token or Token-2022 program
- Requires the current authority wallet to sign
Manual Program Calls
Easy to misconfigure- Requires finding the correct mint and metadata accounts
- Can target the wrong authority or token program
- Provides no guided ownership check before signing
- Makes it easier to submit an irreversible mistake
Authority Revocation Troubleshooting
The mint could not be loaded
Check that the address is a valid Solana mint on the selected network and that your RPC endpoint is available.
The action button is disabled
Connect the wallet that currently owns the displayed authority, then load the mint again.
The authority is already revoked
A null authority is permanent. No additional transaction is required.

What is freeze authority on Solana?
A Solana token has up to three authorities. Mint authority controls supply, freeze authority controls whether accounts can be frozen, and update authority controls metadata. The freeze authority is the right to freeze any holder’s token account so the tokens cannot move. A wallet that can freeze can stop a holder from selling, which is the mechanism behind many honeypots.
How to revoke freeze authority
Paste the token mint address and load it.
Check the token program, the current authority and the supply shown.
Connect the wallet that holds the authority. Only that wallet can sign the change.
Confirm. After the transaction no one can ever freeze a holder’s token account.
The three Solana token authorities compared
| Authority | Controls | Why people revoke it |
|---|---|---|
| Mint authority | Creating more tokens | Fixes supply so holders cannot be diluted |
| Freeze authority | Freezing holder accounts | Proves holders can always sell and transfer |
| Update authority | Name, symbol, image and links | Locks the identity of the token |
Before you revoke
The change is permanent. Not even Jumpbit can restore an authority.
Finish minting, airdrops and allocations first if you revoke mint authority.
Check metadata, image and links first if you revoke update authority.
Revoke freeze authority unless you have a real need to freeze accounts, such as a regulated token.
After revoking, run the Jumpbit rug checker so you can share a graded report.
How traders check authorities
Explorers, wallets and rug checkers read the authority fields directly from the mint account. A token with mint, freeze and update authorities all revoked scores better than one that keeps any of them, because the main ways to cheat holders are closed.
Solana Revoke Authorities - FAQs
How do I remove freeze authority from a Solana token?
Load the Solana mint, confirm the displayed freeze authority belongs to your wallet, and sign the revoke transaction. This prevents future freeze and thaw operations.
Can a revoked Solana token authority be restored?
No. Setting an authority to null is an on-chain, irreversible change. Verify the token mint, authority address, and connected wallet first.
Does this Solana authority tool support Token-2022?
Mint and freeze authority workflows detect whether the mint uses the standard SPL Token program or Token-2022 and build the matching instruction.
Why must I connect the current Solana authority wallet?
The Solana token and metadata programs require the current authority as the transaction signer. A different wallet cannot revoke it.
Is the Solana authority revocation tool non-custodial?
Yes. Instructions are prepared in the browser and your connected wallet reviews, signs, and submits the transaction. Private keys never leave your wallet.
What does revoking freeze authority do?
After revoking, no one can ever freeze a holder’s token account. The change is on chain and permanent.
Should I revoke freeze authority on my token?
For most community and meme tokens yes, because a wallet that can freeze can stop a holder from selling, which is the mechanism behind many honeypots. Keep it only if you have a specific reason, and be clear about it with your holders.
How do I check if freeze authority is revoked?
Paste the mint address into this tool or a Solana explorer. If the authority field is empty or shows none, it has been revoked. Rug checkers display the same information.
Is it free to revoke token authorities?
You pay the normal Solana network fee. Check the amount shown in your wallet before you sign.
What are the three authorities of a Solana token?
Mint authority (create supply), freeze authority (freeze accounts) and update authority (change metadata). You can revoke each one separately with Jumpbit.
Does revoking authorities affect my price or liquidity?
No, it does not move the market. It changes trust: tokens with revoked authorities are easier for buyers and rug checkers to accept.
Can I undo a revoke or get the authority back?
No. Revoking sets the authority to none on chain, and nobody, including Jumpbit, can set it again. Finish minting, allocations and metadata changes before you sign.
Which wallet has to sign to revoke an authority?
Only the wallet that currently holds that authority. Load the token first to see the authority address, then connect that wallet. If a different wallet is connected the tool stops with the message Connected wallet is not the current authority.
Why did my revoke fail or why can I not revoke?
The tool shows the reason. Token mint account not found means the address is not a token mint. This authority is already revoked means there is nothing left to revoke. Connected wallet is not the current authority means you need to connect the authority wallet. Load the token authority first means you must load the mint before you sign. Also make sure the wallet holds enough SOL for the network fee.
Does the revoke tool work for Token-2022 tokens?
Yes. The tool detects whether the mint belongs to the original SPL token program or the Token-2022 program and builds the transaction for the right one.
What happens to accounts that are already frozen if I revoke freeze authority?
Revoking freeze authority stops any new freezes. Accounts that are already frozen can only be unfrozen by the freeze authority, so unfreeze them first if you want them to move again.
